Supermarkets nearby: Right on Hansaplatz there´s a small shopping centre with supermarket, bakery, pharmacy etc. You can also find a bank with cash machine and a post office. On the northern bank of the Spree, right next to the Ministry of the Interior, the compound of the former dairy farm Bolle is situated. Amongst other things this redeveloped facility also contains a supermarket. Activities: Wide range of leisure activities due to location in immediate vicinity of the Tiergarten, Berlin´s “Central Park” (walks, steamer cruises, events, sights, cafes, “biergardens”, etc). In addition, the famous cinemas and theatres at the “Zoo” and “Kurfuerstendamm” are only 1-2 subway stations away. Finally, the new center of former East Berlin with its museums and sights may also be reached within minutes via S-Bahn – simply perfect! Culture: Not only visitors interested in architecture are attracted by the Hansaviertel area. Besides the Academy of Arts with its innovative and high quality exhibitions, the Grips Theatre and the Library at Hansaplatz, the Teahouse in the English Garden should be mentioned. Here the popular Jazz Festival takes place every summer. Last but not least, a visit to the Arts and Fleamarket on the “Strasse des 17. Juni” is highly recommended. This “Original” is a cult!
